A New Chapter for Mrs. Janaun’s Film Class!
By Mrs. Janaun's Film Class · October 31, 2026 · Arts, Writing, Announcements, Film Production
Big things are happening at Mrs. Janaun’s Film Class! Our young filmmakers are creating, collaborating, learning new skills, and earning recognition for their work—and we have an exciting change of scenery ahead!
A New Home for Film Class
This week marked our final class at the Sheridan Recreation Center as the facility closes for much-needed renovations. We're grateful for the time we've spent there, but we're excited to begin our next chapter!
Beginning next week, Film Class will meet at:
True Hope Church
707 N Main St
Sheridan, AR 72150
We're looking forward to settling into our new classroom and continuing to give students a place to explore filmmaking from script to screen.
What Are We Working On?
Our students are continuing to develop their skills in storytelling, acting, directing, cinematography, and editing. We're working on current film projects, developing new ideas, and preparing for our upcoming music video production. We'll also be using instructional video lessons to help newer filmmakers build foundational skills and join in with confidence.
At Film Class, students don't just learn about filmmaking—they get to do it! From planning and storyboarding to filming and post-production, they collaborate to bring creative ideas to life.
Celebrating Student Success!
We're also celebrating some exciting recognition for our filmmakers!
The Ozark Media Arts Festival updated its Instagram page this week to reflect our three-minute film's win. It's wonderful to see our students' work receiving recognition, and we're proud of the effort and creativity behind it.
We're equally proud of Jonathan's recognition as a Best Student Filmmaker. Achievements like these remind us why we encourage students to keep creating, experimenting, and telling their stories.
Come Create With Us!
Mrs. Janaun’s Film Class is more than a filmmaking class—it's a creative community where students learn together, take on new challenges, and turn their ideas into films.
We're excited for this new chapter at True Hope Church and can't wait to see what our filmmakers create next!
